Tour performance. Refined.™

The SD-02 is one for the distance freaks, with lower spin off the driver producing a flatter (lower) ball flight. This is a 4-piece golf ball which was designed to provide consistent results right through the bag. The extra layer provides more spin & control around the greens too.

Premium, professional quality golf balls are really difficult to make.

And that usually means they’re expensive.

At Seed, our products are developed by a small team of industry experts, young designers and experienced engineers. We focus on a core product range, offering maximum performance for the best value around.

We are obsessed with lowering the cost of premium balls, no doubt about that, but we’re just as obsessed with performance. It’s one of the reasons our SD-01 was named as the Official Ball of the PGA EuroPro Tour. We make every effort to provide the best possible value for you, within an proven design concept.

Choosing the right ball can be confusing, so rather than offering ten (or twenty) different golf ball models, we focus on the best model for a specific performance category. This leads to significant cost savings in the development as well as in the production process.

It’s a little known fact, but USGA and R&A performance regulations mean golf ball designers are somewhat restricted with what they can do performance wise. There’s only so much speed (i.e. launch/distance) we can put into a design and still be conforming, so that tends to limit the designers a little when pushing the development of the core and mantle layers. Our design process focused heavily around aerodynamic performance (fluid dynamics more specifically) particularly Magnus and aerodynamic force & the subsequent effects on lift and drag.

For a golfer, this translates into three important performance criteria – launch angle/ball speed, distance and spin/feel.

We’ve independently tested Seed and results confirm Seed balls compare favourably with the major brands.

Balls have been tested with a robotic swing machine and with groups of ‘real’ golfers. Swing parameters were set to identical for each Swing Robot Test and Real Golfers were given multiple shots with each ball, with results averaged. Balls have also been tested at the USGA Performance Lab and undergone extensive factory testing.

All area’s of performance have been considered with design integrity and performance consistency being key. Testing involves collecting data from numerous parameters included external parameters such as set up, club specifications, swing type, attack angle, swing plan, weather and launch conditions.

First time using the ball. The winds were up 18 MPH out of the south. The ball was very impressive. Being on the Patuxent River near the Chesapeake Bay we get some links style play. The ball did exactly what you would expect as seed promotes. Stable into the wind. Good carry down wind. Held a good line on side winds. I didn’t see one shot balloon. Feels good on and around even tho it’s not the softest Seed. I had five smaller bit marks after 18 holes. The ball can still play 18 more. It’s not as durable as a TP5, but it’s pretty good. I enjoyed playing the ball. When I discover my favorite two models, I’ll be buying bulk to save on shipping costs. $29 a dozen is a great deal better than the big three’s inflated ego prices. Loved it!

So-02 review by me

This ball preformed as advertised, I was a little disappointed in
The cost. When I compared them to other balls.
I would strongly recommend this ball, but wish they were priced lower
Snell is selling 5 dozen for 100$ seed 170$ for 5 dozen
I found no difference between them

Let you know

It is winter in Pa. so I have not had a chance to play them. I am taking a trip soon to Myrtle Beach, SC soon and I am excited to both play golf and try these balls. I bought enough to last the entire summer.

CRAZY GOOD

I am very impressed with the quality of the Seed golf balls. They are soft and excellent around greens and long flight off the Tee.

Don't take our word for it..
